Journey to Womanhood
So you want to grow up, aye?
Hello there.
I see you've desired to be a big girl.
Exhaustion and annoyance blossomed on you
As people bestowed you with the label "kid."
If you follow me,
All those days will be a transparent memory.
Oh, who am I?
You may call me a friend,
You may call me a mentor,
You may call me your guardian angel.
You can layer me with trust on this journey.
Oh, you yearn to know what to expect?
Your desires to Bob Ross your face
And dye your nails without flaw
Will be satisfied and tremble all at once.
Those kids you found icky?
They grow up, too,
And they'll make the drum in your chest thump thump thump.
You know those bras in your mommy's bedroom?
You'll discover your secrets
And they'll draw in parts of people,
Just not in their brightest moments.
Those movies the older people wanted to block you from?
You'll gain an understanding towards then,
Some that'll make you feel clever
Others you'll wish you haven't learned.
Well, here we are.
The new chapter all of us will go through.
Oh, one more thing:
When you go through this door,
Just try not to freak out by the blood on your underwear.
