Always the insomniac
I stay up in bed reading
Another dull book hoping
It will transport me to all
The places you're already
Talking about in your sleep.
A little envious, I eavesdrop
On your magical journey even
As I fall for your rugged soul one
Gentle valley at a time — crossing
All the rivers carrying waters
I didn't know I was thirsty for.
Hitchhiking through the dark
Forests of your vivid imagination,
I breathe in the smell of the air,
Slightly humid with the dampness
Of your memories mingling with
The warmth of your heart.
A mild breeze tickles my face
And I smile, some secrets even
The wind blushes to reveal to the
Trees, yet the trees know as they
Sway slowly to the music that
You hummed to me last night.
So I immerse myself fully in the
Lucidity of your aura, as I let your
Enchantment wash over me and pull
Me deeper into your technicolor
Dreams, and I fall asleep to the
Lullaby of a thousand forest rains.
