St. Catharine's Unsolved Mystery

I heard you slapped your new girl around a time or two.

You felt disrespected because she copped some attitude.

she so misguided and believing that's the way love goes,

she covers up her bruises, black eyes and 2 time broken nose.

She begs you not to leave her when you tell her you are through.

Teary eyed she she promises to always remain true to you.

failing to realize you're stripping away every ounce of her dignity,

slowing fading into darkness, is her new identity.

But as long as she has a man by her side, she feels shes worth something.

Regardless of how mistreated she is, she feels its better then nothing.

What type of fucked up society are we living in?

What types of values are we engraving in the minds of these young women?

Why does having a man or the lack of one effect our status or our worth?

competing against each other like there's no other man on earth.

What kind of man takes advantage of the weak and gullible?

And forces them to believe they are far from beautiful.

So blinded she defense him to the core.

"But he loves me, and he's everything I'm looking for!"

You have her hypnotized because every once in a while,

you turn to her and give her that cute mischievous smile.

And whisper those famous three little words,

that make her weak at the knees and her vision blurred.

Call me crazy but if that's all I could get, then I'd rather be alone.

Trust me when I tell you that what you can do to me, I can do to myself on my own.

And even though you never laid a hand on me or made me feel disrespected,

you still lost all my respect now and that was to be expected.

Because no real women in their right mind would tolerate a thing like you.

I know I deserve better and will only be with a man that knows I'm to be valued.

Truthfully you're actually lucky you didn't pull that shit on me.

Had you, best case scenario you'd be locked up, worst case, you 6 feet under, John Doe, St. Catharines unsolved mystery!
