The rain is like an escape from all the happiness. It doesn’t matter if it's real, if you’re in it, or if you’re listening to it
The rain is peaceful and calming, if you like being alone or just always are then you know how nice it is to hear the rain, making you not feel so alone
It's like if the rain understands how you’re feeling, it cries with you, it wants you to know that you’re not alone
The rain is just water but personify it and you’ll understand why people love the rain so much, it's rain that can sometimes be the only one to listen

It Only Took One Minute.......
It only took a minute. I was sitting at the computer in my office when the phone rang. I picked up the receiver and then laid it down my desk as I went to find the student who the call was for. Within seconds I was back at my desk, ready to resume typing, when I heard the student yelling obscenities at me for listening in to his call through the handset that was still lying on the desk. Sick and tired of the lies he was spewing, I was up running down the hall, ready to kill him. By the time I reached him, I had calmed enough not to hurt him, but as I turned back towards my room, I knew that I couldn’t go on like this any longer. The decision was clear. I had to leave.

Gossamer
"Murray! Wake up!" He loved that period between waking and dreaming. To him, it was like entering another dimension; more of a dreamscape than dreaming itself. There was an otherness to it that he wanted to grasp and yet deeply respected the fact that it could never be his totally. This is what gossamer was; flighty and light, a wisp of smokiness, an idea suggested but not fully revealed, a slit in cloth, a copse in the wood.
