Shooting at Gay/Lesbian Bar in Orlando Florida

I was at a lost of words when it came down to this segment. So instead of treating this like a regular segment, I decided to write this poem instead.

It’s Ironic…

How the human race reacts around the word…

Freedom

But are we really Free or are we just Dom.

Free-dom…Free-dumb

You see how ironic is it that we send people away to fight for our freedom. They donate their blood and tears so we can live our life free and to the fullest. Yet no matter how much blood sheds, no matter how many tears fall from their face as a nation we still continue to move at a painfully slow and steady pace.

At this rate we will never be free, we are simply just trapped; yet the worse part of it all is we don’t even move forward we move back. A nation once great and powerfully slipping through the cracks.

See it’s ironic how they shed blood and tears so we can remain free, yet the ones who stand brave; the ones to succumb. Are the ones whose life is stolen 99% of the time with a gun.

See as a nation we’re cowardly, not one of us truly has free rights; because if you become too comfortable with the thought of freedom, your soul is snatched away from you during the middle of the night.

People in love with the same sex hide themselves, saying what they want out loud only in a text, while kisses are stolen from females without their consent. Kids can hardly play freely outside with their friends, because 80% of the time someone’s watching, waiting to make them his/her sin.

We live in a nation corrupt and diseased, a nation where one wants to be worshiped and have civilians bowing before them while on their knees.

To trust an outsider puts our life at risk, but to not trust an outsider makes other countries sick, at this rate our country will become a new profound bitch.

But don’t worry, at least we can say that we’re free.

Sad thing is we’re not free at all, we have freedom and that’s not even ours to control. Guns and Money hold all the power and we simply stand behind it all smelling like cowards. And while everyone mourns a tragedy and then continues on the same way. There’s another tragedy lurking and it may be your life today.

See in this nation as long as you’re “different” and claim that you’re “free" you’ll have thousands of enemies hunting you down waiting to bring you to your knees.

About the Creator

Auteanna Baysinger

At a young age I learned how to handle depression and pain. By bleeding what my soul felt through ink letting my words seep through a blank page. Most of my writing is horror or depression based. However I explore other genres as well.
