Isn’t It Strange That We Fall Back to the Same Song?

A Poem About Exploring Music

Isn’t it strange that we fall back to the same song?

The one that reminds us of things,

Is that wrong?

That one song leads us back with wings,

To that time where we thought about things,

Do you remember?

Isn’t it strange that we fall back to the same song?

The one from its self-defining list,

But, is it the only one to exist?

We are suddenly afraid to divert to new means,

A challenge to face to uncover something different,

Why is it so?

Isn’t it strange that we fall back to the same song?

Its rat-a-tat tempo flows through our bodies,

But, what about the lyrics?

Yes, we now know them better than physics,

We learn, repeat, and digest,

The spoken words of the soul that plagues us,

And, isn’t it time for us to invest?

Isn’t it strange that we fall back to the same song?

So, shouldn’t we look further?

We may explore more than what we could have imagined,

The same creative, or some other,

This lyrical kingdom infinitely supplied,

By the hearts of a thousand lives,

Aren't they just yearning for us to listen?

Thus, isn’t it strange that we fall back to the same song?

Because that one song may remind you of things,

But, we must remember the other roaming Queens and Kings,

And the songs of different tales,

If we don’t, can you see how the power of expression fails?
