Is That a Shadow?

In the Background

What’s that there in the corner, drifting in the evening's light?

A dark almost motionless specter that appears night after night

A figureless image passing through the body a living person

Creating an echo of lost passion and emotion

What’s that sound, that sound ringing in my ears?

A sound so painful in its nature that it brings me to tears

Do you hear it, a voice that appears in hollows and disappears in rears?

A voice so soft, soft! , But not afraid to tell me all its fears.

A limitless mist of sorrow blankets and clouds my now shaded tomorrows.

It would seem as if happiness is only a feeling that we can borrow.

So dreadful is that of a mirror, a simple object granted the power to reveal all our secrets and terror.

The mist so ever thickens now and it systematically paves its own era.

So lonely is that of person that stares into the endless void of eternity.

Living in heartbreak and sieving in utter insanity, ripping away all they could call humanity.

In a just world, a man would be able to coexist with his demons and learn to overcome them.

Instead, he falters, living in envy and venally being ruled by their whim.

This shadow that sways the on edge of your sanity lives to only intervene in your fate.

It waits for your weakest moment and then lures you with its downtrodden bate.

This shadow now distinct in its of own madness wanders in its solemn sadness.

Now the shadow fades in horror and stains its blood inside your soul in which contains its core.

It disappears in the rhyme of your footsteps until the darkness opens the next corridor.

Steadily piece by piece it takes you apart, you that are weak of heart.

Listen to the night and slowly find yourself or else you’ll disappear more and more
