Invisible Scars

A Poem

It is the invisible scars that will break me. Underneath my armor, underneath the smile I paint on. The wounds buried deep under layers of telling myself that I was fine. If I could forget the pain, I could forgive. If I could understand, I could move on. The cuts run deeper than any fragment of feeling I may have left. I'm left to bleed and you are not around to watch me flounder. You are not here to watch me struggle. to see my suffer. Your life has ended but so did mine.

So it is the invisible scars that will break me. The wounds no one can see. The wounds I do not let anyone see. How you broke me with your words and your rage and your fear. I am broken and bruised and damaged.
