introduction.

this is for you.

tears were cried to grow this.

hearts were torn to write this.

life had to be destroyed to build this.

remember that this cost something.

it is worth more than you can imagine.

words have a way not being enough at times.

these words won't change your circumstances.

they won't erase what the past has already said.

love stopped being enough.

so it left.

what only remains is a screaming mind.

full of words,

arguments,

things left unsaid that can't be said anymore.

love left you.

it abandoned you,

but it will return.

for now,

endure the screams.

live through the hate.

forgive and forget when the time is right.

move on,

and one day

your mind will be at peace.

stay and wait.

.

.

.

wait.

to feed the screaming mind, read even.

to ease the screaming mind, read odd.

part I.

1. poetry is art

developed in the soul,

discovered in life,

created in the mind,

and exposed from the heart.

poetry is my art.

poetry is your art.

2. i left you

and walked away from that pain.

i left you.

like rain on a window,

you couldn't get to me anymore.

3. treasure.

your heart is a treasure.

people want to steal it,

own it,

keep it all to themselves,

but it's your treasure.

know that it's yours to give.

4. the first moment i saw you.

long red hair.

beautiful brown eyes.

voice as soft as satin.

you were perfect…

on the outside.

5. we can make ourselves

out to be more lonely

than we actually are.

don't forget those who hold you up.

6. the waves break on the shoreline

like thunder booming miles away.

my heart breaks at your voice

saying "i love you" to someone who isn't me.

7. just above the surface

is a world full of wonder.

you must stand up,

walk on water,

but how little faith you have.

8. the worst part was knowing

that you might not be the one,

but i dismissed that truth

and loved that lie.

9. just over the horizon.

it's just over the horizon.

that thin line of different hues of sunlight

is something we hope to see every morning.

it brings new mercies,

creates the past,

and starts the future.

10. sad to think you'll never be mine.

you had so much more potential with me,

but you didn't deserve me anyway.

i'm a better person without you.

heartbreak
