Inspiration Comes in the Weirdest Ways
Photography, Poetry and All Things in Between.
Poetry and photography have been in my blood from a young age. I learnt "old school" photography development in school and always enjoyed getting out and about taking photos. As technology evolved so did I, always trying to find things to inspire me.
The poetry side of me hid most of the time but was always in the background saying hi every now and then until last year. Now it has decided to take the front position for a while.
I found when I was in my teens, it helped me express things I would never have told a soul. Now that I am older, I find it good as a form of therapy to get the thoughts out of my head once and for all.
I recently had an experience which involved a lot of deep feelings but was short-lived. The worst part about it was the grief I felt from losing someone I loved. They didn’t die, they just moved interstate. It seems a bit dramatic from the outside, but when you spend all your time with someone 24/7 for three months and what started as a friendship grew into something that was way more, due to me having had emergency back surgery, it makes sense. They stood up to the plate and cared for me when I was in a very difficult situation, and I appreciate that more than words can say. Even though some of my poetry takes a dark road, I do also see the light.
At least one positive thing came from it; I have managed to write 85 poems in a little over seven months. So for this, I am proud of myself and hope my inspiration continues to expand into poetry that not only explains me as a person but will help inspire others along the way.
It is amazing what you can accomplish when you have literally nothing to do with your time and you had to spend a majority of it lying down. I am grateful for technology in that way, as I was still able to be creative (created and maintained three Instagram pages), being able to share my love of photography and poetry, combined and separate. Also, it has given me the opportunity to teach myself the tricks of the trade when it comes to social media, as I have had plenty of time but limited money.
Life Hint: take out income protection insurance that covers more than 70% of your current income, as you will usually have a two month waiting period before you even see any money, and sickness benefits are basically designed to make you go bankrupt because according to the government, you I don’t need more than $55 a week to live off and pay bills after rent is paid... (like seriously wtf) sorry rant over.
I hope you enjoy reading my work and find it relatable.
My goal is to create a poetry book collection in the future.
I also have a book I am working on called The Lonely Girls Handbook, which is a play on words meaning you can be alone but it doesn’t mean you have to be lonely. It is a handbook of tips on how to travel by yourself and have fun doing it.
You can check out my collections on the following pages on Instagram or Facebook.

They bring out my thoughts
All the pain and the sorrow
I have always fought’
