Insecurity Is

A Poem

being trapped in a room

whose walls are mirrors,

constantly looking at you

but not really seeing you.

being surrounded in a crowd

whose countless eyes

are constantly looking at you,

but they never actually did.

being accompanied by friends

whose genuine eyes

constantly see the good,

but you deny in disbelief.

being suffocated in a box

whose sides have written your flaws

which constantly flow in your mind,

but never cross anyone else’s.

being dropped into a pit

whose bottom is undiscovered,

constantly falling

but you try to hang on.

being uplifted by family

whose eyes see you,

constantly see you,

but you cannot.
