Innocence Shrouded

Desperate to Escape, Clueless as to How

She hides behind a mask of lies.

Destined to live out the loneliness she created for herself.

Though beautiful; she is blinded by the world.

The world tells her she is anything but what she is.

Milky white skin conceals the hard shell that protects her curious brain.

What a curious brain it is. To think so many absurd ideas in one sitting.

One would imagine there to be no room left for thought.

Neurologists would devour it, if only they knew what lay behind the mask of her face.

Wonderful hidden secrets; it is curious.

Eyes.

A rich chocolate brown. Almost gold when revealed to the light. Have watched with violent intensity.

The eyes give us clues as to what lay behind her skin.

Though try as she might, she can’t help it when nature reveals what she feels.

Emotion. Nature intended it to be seen, felt and experienced.

They haunt her. All she ever seems to be feeling is longing.

Longing to be seen by someone as something more than her body.

Something special.

But she is only forced to watch as life happens around her.

She only watches as people live out the life she desperately craves. Watching as life moves on without her.

Lips.

Plump and light; soft and pink. Trap and cages words she wishes she could say; but she remains still.

Stiff as a board; withholding herself.

What a shame it is.

That she does not unleash the shamefully honest words, which lie in wait on her tongue.

Waiting to spit fire at the next evil being; who seeks to take the only ounce of joy left within her.

Hidden beauty; that is what she is, whom she is. Inside her grows the iridescent light of strength.

Strength gained after having fought off the demons which claw at her mind, with their torturous words of hatred.

'You are nothing', they spit.

But this is not true and she knows it.

She is more than what the world thinks of her.

But still, she hides afraid of what they may think of her.

Rejection is her strongest fear.

Rejection holds the key to revealing everything she is to the world.

But she holds command over it. Refusing to let it unlock anything without her consent.

So hidden she shall remain.

And what a shame it is. To be denied the right to a new kind of beauty.

Innocence of the purest kind. So pure, the essence is almost ethereal.
