Infinite Afterlife

A Poem of Wondering

Cracks in the sidewalk,

In the stairs,

Walking to and fro,

Walking to survive,

Survival of the fittest?

Survival of the fastest,

Who can grow up in time?

Time,

Slipping, slipping,

Slowly our perception alters,

Our minds begin to fade,

Souls collecting memories for the next life,

The “afterlife,”

Cracks in the sidewalk,

Cracks in the stairs as vast as infinity,

After this life,

The next life,

What comes next?

A never-ending stream of lives,

Or does infinity end when all is truly found?

What guides us through this life but instinct,

A quickness,

The intuition of pasts,

Lives lived and lives lost,

Lives lived nonetheless,

Is all truly found,

Or is there always something to be learned?

Always something to be gained,

Always something to be found,

Through infinity.
