Some people need a hand to hold.
An arm around them when they are feeling cold.
But I am learning to be brave and bold.
This boy is not one to be told.
There is no point for you to disagree.
Because I am independently me.
Many need words of courage from another mouth.
Another person to distinquish any thoughts of doubt.
But that is not what I am about.
I can council myself and it will cost me nowt.
There's a glowing feeling about being free.
When I become independently me.
Others want a shoulder to cry.
Someone else to keep their spirit high.
But I've grown my own wings now watch me fly.
Only I pilot this plane that sails through a crimson sky.
Go ahead and tell me how amazing my life can be.
I'll prove I'm all that because I am independently me.
