In the Wind

A Poem

The breezes come, from west then the east,

He feels the eyes of the scary beast,

Once he trips and falls his journey will end,

The roads up ahead will seize to bend,

Tears would fall if he wasn’t so dry,

The heat so bad he felt like he’d fry,

He had dreams of wonders yet to be seen,

He also was wishing and hoping for a stream,

Dwelling on no hope for eternal bliss,

It passed right by him for this he could miss,

He finally fell to his knees with no more hope,

Prayers would not be answered from God or the pope,

What once was plans, dreams and care,

Was nothing more than a fairy tale scare,

This lost man is not meant to have it all,

Just lay down, give up, and wait for deaths call.
