In the Night

It goes bump in the night.

When you hear the branch hit your window

It's a scary giant

When you hear something from the closet

It’s a dark shadow

When you here the door creek open

Hide under your covers

When you feel claws come up the blanket

You stay quiet

When you hear the coo coo of the owl

You jump in fear

When the floor starts to creek

You hold your breath

When the rain taps on your window

There’s someone waiting for you

The monsters in the night are always

Watching

Listing

Waiting

Patiently for you to peek

Out from under the covers

You see it’s just the branches

It’s just the rain

It’s just the cat

There’s nothing to be afraid of at last
