In Silence...

You have to acknowledge what you already know is true.

I sat in silence, and I cried

Alone

I text, I called, and I tried

In vain

I wanted to undo the hurt I had caused

Screaming

But your silence gave me pause

Lost

It isn’t silence that I fear

Empty

Its that you would turn away, when I draw near

Broken

That you would silence me and not let me explain

Rejection

To be silenced causes me so much pain

Fragile

But you don’t know that, because you don’t know me

Shattered

And in the silence, I realized, it wasn’t meant to be

You do not love me...
