In My Secret Place

Where I Go When I'm Alone

Now I'll speak of my secret place

A break from the world's speeding race.

I dashed through the soft green grass

Around the gurgling brook I'll pass.

Between the woods of tall oak trees

I love the feeling of the breeze.

O'er the fallen log I flew!

I followed the path, that stayed so true.

Almost There! I'd breathe aloud'

Of this place I am most proud.

Under the jagged rocky ledge

Then finally through, just one more hedge.

Merrily gazed around

At the hidden plain I found.

I bent down and grabbed a stick

And peeled the bark with a flick.

Running now, I jumped a rock

And I soared as agile as a hawk.

Lastly, I climbed my favorite pine tree

And there I sat happy as can be!
