In Love With My Best Friend

Poems from the Past

A laugh to hide my pain

A whisper said with a name

The hope of love still in my heart

But knowing we have to be apart

Screaming with anger locked in my mind

Killing myself with hurt that's easy to find

Kicking rocks set neatly beneath me

And nothing changing the way it should be

I can't tell him the way I really feel

Cause the response would be like a spinning wheel

I'm in love with my best friend

And I'm scared to see how this will end

He makes me smile in a a way I never knew I could

I feel so happy when I'm with him in a way I know I should

I don't have to fake my smile like I always seem to do

Why can't I just walk up and say " I'm in love with you"

What if he doesn't feel the same?

And what if I'm left alone in pain?

I'll just have to see how this will end

Because I'm in love with my best friend
