In Her Eyes

In Her Eyes

In your eyes,

She smiles, laughs, and doesn't shed a tear,

In her eyes,

She hasn't laughed or smiled in years,

In your eyes,

She's strong, confident, and knows what she wants,

In her eyes,

She's scared and doesn't want to flaunt,

In your eyes she's beautiful and less than insecure,

In her eyes,

She uses a mask, makeup is her cure,

In your eyes,

Her body is just fine,

In her eyes,

She makes herself sick because she actually ate something this time,

Over time she has faded away,

Exhausted of trying to impress you,

And you never had anything to say,

It's didn't take much to make that stride,

If she had only heard it once from you,

It may have given a little pride,

As you go fast to sleep on your side of the bed,

She lays down permanently resting her head,

You soon regret all the things left unsaid.
