In a World

A Poem

In a world full of madness and chaos

You remain the same

You look so innocent

But you're eyes say a different thing

Hurt and pain fill your iris's

And you ask yourself why does it hurt like this

But it's not your fault

It's not your destruction

It's just the world we live in

And darling listen to me when I tell you this

Don't lose the light

Don't lose the light in those pain filled eyes

You're the definition of everything but don't see anything

You're oblivious to what you hold and keep

What you keep is me

My mind, and heart how it skips a beat

How can something well put together

Be so undone

You dislike who you are

I don't see what you see

I see a man structured like a tree

Deep roots, strong bark, sap dripping out its mouth, growing to its potential

And you my love, are immensely special

And I'm not home yet, but soon I'll be

We could be together forever, and live freely

And in a world full of madness and chaos

You remained the same

heartbreak
