She is like the sweet scent of a lilac,
Her smile, the brilliance of the sun.
Her heart, gentle and warm;
In a word she is lovely.
Eyes that encapsulate the heavens,
A smile which captivates the heart.
Her face, radiant and kind;
In a word she is beautiful.
Her laugh is the sweetest of melodies,
Her hand, the simplest of remedies.
A rose amidst the sand;
In a word she is extraordinary.
I’ve loved her since eighteen,
Even though we may never be.
In a word she is perfect,
Just perfect for me.

Stuck in Place
Amy whistled as she walked through her front yard, looking for any sticks she could pick up and throw into the pile she and her brother were making. They had a big windstorm recently; as such, all the trees in their yard had suffered some damage in some loss of sticks. Or perhaps losing those sticks was a good thing since their trees probably needed to be pruned anyway. Amy wasn't sure.
