In a Moment

A Poem

Lost that is what she feels,

No one is at her side is what she sees,

She is alone as she walks her road,

This is what she believes,

She remembers her tear stained fingertips,

So many times those hands had wiped away the tears that felt like glass,

So many times she felt her heart shatter,

She would then feel a breeze,

She paid no attention,

Later on she would learn the breeze was her salvation,

She has been walking for so long that she can’t remember the last time she has slept,

She cannot even remember how long she has felt alone,

How long it has been since she had eaten,

Lost that is what she feels,

No one is at her side,

This is what she believes,

She is alone as she walks her road,

Her thoughts build up with wishes of death,

Tears begin to flood her eyes,

She remembers her tear stained fingertips,

So many times those hands have wiped away the tears that have felt like glass,

She felt she had no one to turn to,

That everyone left her in their past,

She is still walking,

Still believing she is walking alone,

As a tear falls the breeze picks up to her right,

So she looks to her side,

Now I said it would soon be her salvation,

It was an oasis,

A person with open arms,

She smiled with glossy eyes,

She ran towards her thought to be long lost best friend,

She girl who had walked for ages looked around and saw so many faces,

So many true friends,

And in that moment Shaelynn realized that she was never truly alone.

A person with open arms,

She smiled with glossy eyes,

She ran towards her thought to be long lost best friend,

She girl who had walked for ages looked around and saw so many faces,

So many true friends,

And in that moment she realized that she was never truly alone.
