I'm in a coma
Time for me has stopped
Though life goes on outside
Life inside does not
I'm in a coma
Though I have no fear
My friends are all in my head
I don't need to wake up
I'm in a coma
I often hear a buzzing
When there is no buzz
My eyes flutter open
I'm in a coma
My eyes widen
Life goes on outside
Life outside is scary
I'm in a coma
I hear a buzz
I rush back to sleep
My friends are in my head
I'm in a coma
The buzz I hear
Tells that a friend is near
More buzzing
I'm in a coma
I don't need to wake up
My friends are all here
In my head
I'm in a coma
I'm told I'm liked
I'm told I'm great
I'm told I'm something special
I'm in a coma
I don't need to wake up
I don't need to go outside
I don't need to live
My phone buzzes
In my hand
A friend is near
I'm in a coma
About the Creator
Donia Schenkels
Just a poet that knows it doesn’t rhyme with poet.
I like to focus on our modern world in my writing, because let’s face it, if schools want to teach poetry, make it useful and understandable to today’s students. Language changes with time.
