Illusion to My Void

A Poem About Wondering if the Right Person Coming into Your Life Is Real or an Illusion

Alone.

Lost without you.

Helpless.

Not knowing which way to turn.

Needing you more

than ever before.

Vulnerable now that you

were nowhere to be found.

My mind going in a million directions,

out of control in my thoughts.

When will I see you again?

A void in my life.

Piece of my heart missing.

Without you near,

I wasn't complete.

The absence of you,

wonder if you really existed.

Were you a figment of my imagination?

Were you an illusion,

come into my life when I needed someone?

Note: The dream this poem was inspired by was one I had involving a man who appeared out of nowhere and showed up everywhere I was. Never in the dream did I see his face nor find out who it was. This is about no one in particular, but to get you thinking if someone you really needed in you life is really there in front of your eyes or are they nothing but an illusion.
