Illusion

Things are never what they seem.

Carnivals, Circuses, and Freak Shows.

Deceive bright eyes,

And outwit sharp minds,

with the amusing befuddlement of magic.

Come see the feats,

Come take my hand,

Enter great sleep,

In my dreamland.

Bright colors to stun you,

Big words which amaze,

Bring a rabbit from my hat,

Bring a coin from your ear,

But at the end you won’t want to leave.

Stay in my garden,

Of beauty and tricks,

See my illusion evermore.

Go for a ride,

On the Merry Go Round,

And disappear,

Never to be found.

Awake once more,

On my mystical stage,

Which, all this time,

Was a bright shiny cage.

Be ensnared in my trap,

Never to leave,

And watch,

Watch closely,

As the illusion secedes.

The hand is rotting!

The dreamer awakes!

Bright colors turn dark!

The coin turns to clay!

All as morning dew falls away.

Please stay in my garden,

Of beauty and tricks.

Sleep once more,

And all shall be mended!

For once you awake,

There's no going back,

Reach for my hand!

Too late.

Oh, so sad.

Goodbye and good luck.

For now you arise,

In hands of fate your life swings.

The spiders web now broken.

For now,

My spell,

is dead,

And gone,

And reality,

May face,

you,

head on.
