If My Wounds Were Visible

When the bruises are internal, often you experience secondary abuse!

If my wounds were visible would you show me the empathy, kindness and compassion I so desperately need to recover?

If my wounds were visible, would you nurture, love and take care of me until my wounds were healed?

If my wounds were visible, would you try to build me back up instead of knocking me further into despair?

If my wounds were visible, would you believe me when I tell you the abuse I’ve suffered at the hands of another?

If my wounds were visible, would you be so quick to cast judgement and punishments the way you do?

If my wounds were visible, would you listen to my story and help me to understand how I came to be where I ended up, instead of calling me the fool?

If my wounds were visible, would you show me the way out of my own personal hell, would you help me to find the strength to rise up and stay up, instead of leading me straight back there?

If my wounds were visible, would you be proud of the strength and courage I show as try each day to rebuild my broken life?

If my wounds were visible, would you continue to treat me as if I’m worthless and invisible?
