If I Were a Butterfly

Flutter

I'd flutter in the tree tops, and I'd drink the morning dew.

I'd play in every flower field, and lovely meadow too.

I'd dance with all the faeries, and float on the summer breeze.

I'd listen to the wind whisper through the leaves upon the trees.

I'd find a peaceful stream, and tease the frogs and fish.

I'd flutter with a dandelion seed as someone made a wish.

I'd rest my wings upon a rock, and bask in the shining sun.

I'd watch the little forest creatures play, and have some fun.

I'd stop at each pretty flower just to have a taste.

I'd revel in each second, for time's too precious to waste.

I'd land on the cheek of every child that I see.

I'd place a kiss upon their nose, and watch them laugh with glee.

I'd visit all of the lovers lying in the grass.

I'd remind them to enjoy these moments for life moves way too fast.

Now as my day came to an end, I'd watch the setting sun,

And as the moon began to rise I'd think of all I'd done.

As I did, I'd remember each with a smile in my heart.

I'd close my peaceful eyes, and wait for my next life to start.
