If I was a painter
I would paint my memory
Illuminate the canvas
Different hues of you and me
I'd paint the sky above us
Stars aligning with each other
Evoke the metaphor of
Our bond with one another
Imagery, us together
In the middle of nowhere
With closed eyes, imagine
The brush strokes take me there
I'd portray your essence
Colors in a bright array
Our passion in portrait
Forever on display
I'd complete the picture
Take a step back to admire
Examine the acrylic
That depicted my desire
If I was a painter
I could capture me and you
Because I am no artist
Memories will have to do.
