If I Ruled All

Love is pure.

If I ruled the skies..

I’d sing a song into the arms of a star

And as you dream it would play to your heart

To hear my song of love, you’d be the only one

I’d keep the rain and give you possession of my sun

If I ruled the earth..

I’d plant flowers with the sweetest smell

and colors brighter than your smile

All of nature’s secrets I would reveal

And I’d unlock green pastures for miles

If I ruled the oceans..

I’d put waves in your right hand

You’d control my tides low and high

In the night we’d lay on my sand

And tears of love we’d cry.

If I ruled the atmosphere..

and you were cold I’d warm you with my touch

I’d grab splashes of sunlight and coal

It wouldn’t seem like much

But I’d mold them into diamonds and gold

I’d let you ride on my wind

So free and protected you’d be

I wouldn’t ask where you’ve been

As long you return to me

If I ruled all..

I’d give you anything

All that you want, all that you need

You’d sit on a golden throne like a king

And if you desired, I’d birth your seed

But I don’t rule the oceans or the skies above

I only rule myself

So please accept my love
