I Wish I Had Kept Those Messages About The Stars

I remember the time

We had that conversation

About the stars;

About space

And the universe

And everything it could possibly be

Or not be.

You told me

You wanted to go up there

Someday,

And I said,

"I bet it gets really lonely up there,

All alone,

With no one to talk to.

I imagine it could lead

To pure insanity."

But you told me

That you wouldn't mind

The solitude

Or the silence

Or the lack of human emotion

Around you,

And that made me think,

"Who hurt you so badly

That you wouldn't mind

Living the rest of your life

Completely and utterly

Alone?"

Words and music have been a part of me since I was young, and I don’t plan on ever letting them go.
