I've searched for you for so long.
Countless nights and countless days.
I don't have the mental capacity to completely count the ways.
I've searched for you at the peaks of towering mountains struggling for breath in the frigid cold.
As well as sunken chasms, hidden in valleys, born from fairy tales that are seldom told.
I've searched for you embrace both of strangers and of friends.
And yet all I discover is that I am but another denizen.
Why do you elude me it's as if you run away.
And in the fleeting moments when I catch but a glimpse, why is it you never stay.
You're like an ever fluid current never resting not a wink.
Such a fucking misnomer if you really stop and think.
What I wouldn't give to have you ever present in my life.
I've heard tells that you dissolve even the most rancorous of strife.
So I March forward in my search to the ethereal and beyond.
I fear I will not fully know you until from this world I'm gone.
So this is my promise I swear to never cease.
'Til my dying breathe or from beyond the grave I vow I will find peace.
