I Shall Never Know the Spring Wind
A Love Poem

The days you are gone are counted
The time documented and locked
Away deep in my heart, the words
Omitted over that time and the embraces
Fashioned in my mind,
How many have been missed now?
Your kiss is soft and gentle
Like the blowing of spring wind,
All lost to time and the wiles of the world
As the ache sets in my dreams seek to call
On you to come back, to claim my heart
As it had always been before
But what can be known now?
Like pedals on a tulip this romance is fragile
Vulnerable to a multitude of heartaches,
Of which shall I speak of?
Will you hear them?
Shall I persuade myself with your shadow?...
Until you return the world might as well drift away
Without you I shall never know the spring wind again.
