I Never Asked to Be Born

I didn't mean to ruin her life.

"I never asked to be born." I screamed back at you.

You ruined my life! You ruined your own life. We both know it. Getting pregnant at 16, Failing your catholic religion.Tell me what's the greater sin; Premarital relationsOr birth control?

I guess to you it was birth control. We are constantly at each other's throats. A pair of ravens caught in defending their nests. I never wanted this. Wouldn't it be easier if

I

Just

Didn't

Exist.

But your children rely on me. Because you forget so much. You forget to feed them, You forget to change them, You forget to hold them. Just like you did me. Just like you still do to me. I didn't have an older sibling to care for me. But they do.

I refuse to let them suffer. Or let them feel the sting of rejection. Or the sting of your backhand. Or the sting of your belt. I will bare the brunt of your wrath. So they will eventually forget this hell; Grow up to be more successful members of society than you are. Than I will be.

I will not escape this unscathed.

Mentally or Physically.

You won't allow it.
