I Miss the Days When We Just Had Landlines

I know this probably isn't the popular opinion

I miss the days when we just had landlines,

we were without cell phones and their confines.

Is it just me,

or do you just never feel free?

They seem like a ball and chain,

phone, always by side, what a pain!

And then, if you don't answer, people think you're dead,

every time it goes off, I just can't help, but feel annoyance, and dread.

So then, they'll just text you instead,

they will send a message to you, in brain embed.

I want to know how many people have turned their phones off for just a day,

because I bet most have never done this or thought this way.
