I’m sorry,
Does it bother you that I’m constantly correcting you in your speech,
Telling you to stop excluding non-binary people,
Trans people,
To stop acting like the gender binary,
Cisgender people,
Are the only people on the planet?
I’m sorry,
Are you bothered by the fact that I’m not afraid to be loud about who I am,
Refusing to let you act like my identity isn’t valid?
Are you inconvenienced by the fact that I push you to use different language,
Using more words in your sentence as to not exclude my existence,
And the existence of others like me?
I’m sorry,
Does it make you uncomfortable that I exist?
That I want you to know that I exist?
That I want you to respect that I exist?
I’m sorry,
Do I bother you
As a trans person?
Do I inconvenience you
As a non-binary person?
Do I make you uncomfortable
For being comfortable about who I am?
I’m sorry,
But I’d love if you’d stop living in the lie of your
Cisnormative, cis-centered, cis-exclusive world,
And start facing the truth of your internalized cissexism and transmisogyny.
I’m sorry,
But I’m going to have to ask you to either respect me and my community,
Or shut your cis little mouth and keep your cis lips sealed,
Because we trans people,
We non-binary people
Are tired of hearing all of the unnecessary cis bullshit that gushes out of
Those cis mouths,
Those cis lips.
I’m sorry,
But I am not the one who really should be.
