I’m a girl with a dream,
I’m a girl with ambition.
I’m a girl with a mind,
And a girl with intuition.
Even though it may not seem it,
I listen to all you say.
Even though you may not mean it,
A debt it seems I pay.
I have a brain,
I have a right,
To live as equal,
To live my life.
Even though progression happens,
Even though it’s going well,
I can’t but shake this growing feeling,
I’ll never live a life to tell.
I sit and wonder where I’m going,
How I’ll get there,
What I’ll do.
I wonder if equality’s showing,
In the world I’ll enter soon.
I’m a girl with opinions,
I’m a girl with a vision,
I’m a girl in society,
I’m a girl.
I’m imprisoned.
I live my life,
With endless possibilities,
Endless opportunities,
And endless improbabilities.
My gender does not define me,
Neither do my grades.
My gender does not restrict me,
I’ll live my life, my way.
I’m a woman.
I’m a woman with my own views,
I’m a woman all the same.
I’m a woman that’s my own person,
And I’m proud of that given name.
That title.
