I'm in Your Heart

Poem in Memory of My Beloved Best Friend

Please don't cry no more.

I know you're filled with heartache,

and your eyes are really sore.

But please try to understand,

an angel called my name

and took me by the hand.

She promised no more pain.

She said to make me happy,

she'd take me down memory lane.

She closed my eyes and showed me

all the fun times we had.

So can't you see now?

It isn't all that bad.

The Lord knew I was tired.

He knew that I was hurt.

So a few days later,

I was buried in the dirt.

But no distance of time,

or even six feet of dirt

could change that

we're not that far apart.

For every time you think of me,

I'm right there in your heart.
