I’m in awe as a student before the pupil of your eye
Obsidian reflections cast me dark and curved wide
My second self, fractalized,
Beyond your ocean-mind’s tides
Bittersweet recollection
Of the original disconnection
For the sake of love’s reunion
Shadows from the light obscure the revelation
Of things in plain sight now raised in elevation
Awareness is waxing
Attention is taxing
My headlights dart from spot to spot on you so pretty
My nervousness so self-conscious makes me giddy
I catch myself catching myself
And return to a steady gaze
In my eyes your image is soul-wealth
Your charming visage a reflection of light rays
I somehow manage to eye a landing
In the process of handing
My soul over to observation
The nature of which simply slays me with elation
Till I just have to smile to say, “I love you because you’re you,
So different and so not me,
And yet the same in the nature of need
To share in the fruit of where good love leads.”
We must till the soil well before we can expect the bone-deep bliss
When water waves over the thirsty terrain of the mind
And the Sun shines in the midst
Of your central single Self
Manifesting in the elixir field
As abundance of health-wealth
Only our happy hearts may yield
