I'm Bored

A Poem

As the title assumes, I was feeling quite bored.

I'm Bored - A Poem

I'm bored.

The incessant buzzing of it creeps into the porous inner surface of my skull.

Rattling.

Humming.

Vibrating with its vigorous energy!

Do everything.

Do nothing.

Do every nothing.

Circles are my choice pattern in which to walk around the room.

Contemplation is my companion.

Together we walk hand in hand on this psychonautical journey.

We are intrepid explorers, my consciousness and I,

bravely going where no thrill is to be had.

With adventure comes experience! Entertainment! Engagement at least.

Staring down the grand expanse of this void, the nothingness, true indomitable boredom,

that is the truest test of the fortitude of my sentience.

My greatest quest.

The loudest emptiness I shall ever experience is the echoes of boredom in the halls of my mind.

Fleeting ideas and motivations bounce off the walls and fade into the depths behind the pillars,

failing to materialize into release from this prison.

Jailer, what are my crimes?

Am I as cursed as I am blessed in this conscious awareness of my story?

Do I reside here simply to give the air outside a sweeter taste?

I am forever sentenced to contrast by necessity.

I'm bored of being bored.
