I Live For...

It's the Little Things

What do you live for?

blurry sleepy eyed smiles

fluffy white clouds in a baby blue sky

crisp clean sheets pulled straight from the dryer

your laughter and crooked smile

long dreamless naps

those smiles when you talk to or see someone special after waking up

the clean and fresh smell of the rain and the feel of it on my skin

the fragrance of a new book that's never been opened

holding hands on a snowy chilled day

talking deep into the night and choosing not to sleep to do so

movies that play on your emotions

deep philosophical discussions about the important things in life

the smell of freshly mowed grass

a baby's adorable giggle

hearing someone explain something that makes them excited or impassioned

soft wavy hair blown about by the warm summer winds

the feeling of sun on my face

long, warm and lasting hugs

inside jokes that only a few know about

skiing faster and faster until you feel like you're flying over the clouds

the feel of the water flowing past my hands as I kayak

hiking across rivers and through caverns; adventuring across obstacle courses of rocks, roots, and cliffs

soaring around on a roller coaster and never wishing for it to stop

kissing without either person pulling away

baggy sweatshirts to hold you when someone isn't there to

cool clear water after a run

disheveled but beautiful people trying their best to succeed, without caring what they look like

honest and loud laughter that lasts for awhile because it's just that funny

late night walks under the moonlight and beneath the stars

crisp night air in the winter time

snow as it falls through the sky and melts on my fingertips, an adventurer with one mission...to land

cuddling on a couch that can barely fit two people

kisses on the cheeks, nose, and forehead in complete and utter tenderness

an understanding mind, filled with gumption, but humbled enough to speak it well

the unconditional love of family

friends that will come to comfort, when laying on the floor completely and utterly brokenhearted

sweet text messages to make you smile in the tiniest way

random phone calls during the week no matter what your schedule is

fresh coffee on a rainy slow morning

the feeling of less weight on my shoulders after a night of tears

honest speeches from the heart

spontaneous acts of kindness and care to those who need it most; all of us

music that speaks to my heart and soul

that one day when I don't have to worry about speaking up or saying the right thing or acting a certain way because "I'm feeling confident!"

those few nights when I get enough sleep

those few days I feel breathtakingly beautiful without the help of any verbal affirmation

the sound of your voice when I'm homesick

the feel of the softest fir on my face as I sing my favorite melodies for my kitten

the lovely memories of those long gone, but never ever forgotten

the people who stay with you no matter what happens; no matter where they leave to, their love, words, and actions will always stay

hot cocoa, a good book, and a warm fireplace in the dead of winter

swimming in a deep body of water like a fish out at sea

loving another human so much that they can feel your love

people who stay through the good times and the bad

holding you holding me

treasuring someone who is gone, without feeling the pain of their loss

etc.
