I Know
I know in my head I'm over her
I've guarded my heart
I've barricaded the entrance
but
I also know, I'm in over my head
some days as I piece my heart
back from the shards it was left in
her very presence (that can melt the hearts of millions)
makes me look to her in awe
(like a moth drawn to flames
I, the lowly insect
her, the bright light)
and in that awe
my heart drops again from my hands
back to shards as it lands
because she's more powerful
than a guard
a barricade
than me
