I Know

A Poem

I know your tears, they stream heavily.

I know the pain that hurts your heart.

How sadness creeps upon you steadily,

How stormy days just won't depart.

I know your fears; they haunt at night.

I know the battles you try to drink away.

How loneliness puts on a lengthy fight,

How many a night you kneel and pray.

I know the joy for which you yearn.

I know it's running, coming soon.

How mistakes have made you learn.

How your happiness shall be in bloom.

I know.

Have you ever felt that the heap amounted from the stones life has thrown your way has grown so high and so wide that no one is able to see you? That no one is able to feel let alone see your pain? Have you tried climbing to the summit only to find that each grip causes a tumble and causes you to crumble into tears? Yet, there is always, and I say always, something to be grateful for and happiness is always right around the corner. So that begs that question, why falter in faith?

During these periods of disappointment and fear and loneliness, we all want to know that someone is there for us or that something is there to hold on to. “I know” is your crutch during those strenuous storms. It is your brace for impact and it lights the path to recovery. The same things happen to just about all of us, the difference is in decision. What are you going to do about it? “I know” is a subtle reminder that life happens to everyone and that happiness is always near, as near as we want it to be. This piece is directed to that person who has felt loneliness in the midst of adversity or vice versa. “I know” speaks from an omnipresent point of view expressing to the listener that: You are not alone, I feel your pain and I understand your pain. It’s an all-around, all-encompassing expression of empathy and sympathy. “I know” serves as that comforting hand on the shoulder, a hand in hand warmth and a finger wiping away those tears. Everything miserable and terrible and seemingly unbearable has not been felt by you alone. “I know” is a we-are-in-this-together proclamation. It has that “dear dear baby, everything will be alright” motherly touch.

Have you seen the video? Well, if you loved what you read, and I’m sure you did (wink), you will love love love the video. It adds so much more depth and feeling to my poetry. Don’t forget to share it with a friend and with loved ones. My aim is to inspire and motivate, but most of all to transform lives, one piece at a time. Your sharing of this piece will only get me closer to that goal. Don’t keep all the inspiration to yourself! Share, share, and share some more.

Let’s not talk about the book which is filled with inspiration. On second thought… let’s.

Thoughts of Inspiration is a collection of motivational poems and statements expressing the author’s aim to challenge the reader to extinguish the flames of life by practicing positive thinking. The seed of success or failure lies in a single thought. If we all could only learn to plant seeds from the plethora of virtues such happiness, love, peace, strength, determination, and perseverance, then our tree of success would flourish greatly and bear fruit beyond our most desired dreams. We would attain success to such a high degree, to such a high standard, that to uproot it or cut it down would require strength equivalent that of the giant Goliath. Thoughts of Inspiration is food for the mind. What have you been eating lately?
