I Hate Hip Hop
The genre that has garnered so much animus had a chance to be a culture of rationality, productiveness, and pride. Sadly, it fell short.

The hip hop ideal expressed in paint.
I hate hip hop, but I respect rappers.
Those who call it a culture are wrong.
It is a genre based on the mappers
Who chart how to steal from another song.
Hip hop had a chance at the very start.
The best philosopher in over two
Thousand years had passed, left behind art.
This could’ve inspired the very few.
The ‘peace, love, unity, and having fun’
Could have been reason, purpose, self-esteem.
No, this faction chose the wrong values, one.
And the other thing was to blight the dream.
The dream that the individual could be
The dominant force for eternity.
