I Feel Like Gold

Just something I felt today while I was walking through the dunes...

I feel like

gold

in the

sun.

I am a product

of SoCal--

a child

of the golden

SoCal Sun--

who has

fled

to the wet

and weary

lands of NorCal

for some fresh air

and freedom.

I still crave

my homeland.

I love it.

Some days

are better

than others.

Like today.

Today,

that gold

leaked

from the sky

all day long

and it was

beautiful.

Although

I am a migrating soul,

who has left

my blessed land

behind,

I move with

the sun

in my soul

in my smile

and on my shoulder,

where ever I go.

NorCal

can be dreary...

but on some days--

just some days--

you can uncover

it's raw

golden

beauty.

And when you

witness that

b e a u t y,

that

golden energy;

you realize

that no matter

how far you travel

where you go

or if you've left home,

you see the same

golden ball of love

over

and over

and over again.

She follows you

wherever you go.

You just have to

look up to the sky

and ask her

where she is,

how she's doing.

She will shine for you

if you swear

that you'll carry

her spirit in your soul

and on your shoulders.

If you swear

to that,

you are a

Golden Child,

like me.

She shines for me

to remind me

that I am not far

from home.

That someone,

just someone--

is out there,

taking care of me,

watching me grow

with every

sunrise

and

sunset.

I grow in the summer sun.

I am a summer baby.

I shine the brightest

when that golden

ball of fire

and energy

and love

is shining

on my shoulders

with every beach day

every bike ride

every walk through

the dunes;

She

is there for me.

I am a child

of the Sun;

made from gold.

What are you?
