I Am the Earth

A Poem

I may be part of the Earth and thus feeling the same things.

As the Earth is stolen from and left to grow back its vegetation, the living organisms on the Earth take what they need while the Earth stays left to make itself whole again.

It doesn't have a choice but to provide you with what you need and keep moving, spinning and evolving, growing.

I like to think of myself as Earth.

People come and go from my life, like people live and die on the Earth.

Regardless of what people took from me, or gave to me; I’m left to make myself whole again, only to face the world of people who will once again need something of me.

Through it all; I change, I evolve, and I shift in and out of phases.

I mold, like the rocks of the Earth take different form over the years.

I separate from people and things, like continents drift away from each other.

I conserve like the process of evaporation, and precipitation.

I love and cherish things by being my authentic self. There is no other way to be.

The Earth and I are one and the same.

She and I go through the same processes.

The Earth may have a longer life than me, but with a body so big, it might just be the equivalent.

I stand on the Earth for a fraction of a second in the eyes of the Earth.

She’s been around for billions of years.

Who knows exactly when the earth first came into existence?

The Earth was once part of something else before it was Earth.

Therefore, I can conclude that I was something else before I was me.

Everyone came from something, and we all just might be from the same source.

We’re all simply the universe.
