Hurt

A poem about heartbreak.

Picture drawn by me

The day you told me goodbye

I didn't know what to do.

I stuck my fingers down my throat

so that I couldn't taste you anymore.

I held your shirt so tight against my chest

I thought that I would rip it.

I screamed your name

until my throat was raw

and I couldn't speak.

I scratched at my skin

with fingernails so long

my arms started bleeding

just so I wouldn't feel your touch.

None of it worked.

I can still feel your arms around my body.

I can't get the taste of you from my mouth.

My music can't be loud enough to drown out the echo of your voice.

I am lost

and there's no one that can save me now
