Hurry up Summer

Summertime

At this time of year I long for Summer to be near. Goodbye to dark nights and cold days. I want happy holidays and carefree ways.

Roll up those trousers to paddle in the sea. Smell of candyfloss fills me with glee. Deck chairs out, oh so sunny!

Punch and Judy on the pier. Bucket and spade, sandcastles galour, mind the crab, oh dear! Fun to have rides on the donkey's.

Ice cream, Dirty knees, fair ground rides, kiss me quick. Postcards sending, jelly shoes need mending, flower beds need tending. Blooming away, thirst at bay.

New memories to make, I'll bake a cake, a piece for you all to take. Dad at the barbeque, Mum at the bar, children playing at the park, not far.

Pop open the lemonade, find the mayonnaise, sit on the beach, picnic time go steady. I am so ready, to have Summer here already. To fill our hearts, so many.
