Hurricane Christina
Comin' soon to a city near you.
The hurricane that wreaks havoc along the coastal shore,
takes away anything in its’ path, forevermore.
This hurricane in my mind that doesn’t seem to want to cease,
Twelve-hundred miles away, but further less at ease.
Isolated and cold,
shivering and withering away, another day old.
The snow comes down, much like this cold feeling in my fragile soul,
only here for one single goal
The goal now seeming further and further away;
As, much like a hurricane, my mind leads astray.
Suddenly, the sun shines light through the curtain that hasn’t moved for days,
cutting through this dimming light, tearing through the cloud of smoke and haze.
The sun fires the passion that lives deep down in this very heart,
the solitude turning to gratitude—an okay place to start.
