Hues of Blue and Black

There’ll be days that feel

As still as an abandoned ravine.

Both empty and deep.

As deep as 6 feet would feel.

Which would be a much better fate

Than feeling this

Non-feeling.

Where everything is dark.

As if tainted with the stains of yesteryears.

When last did this non-feeling visit?

New days are meant to be filled with promises,

Yet days like these saturate veins with tar.

Origins unexplained,

But it’s all consuming.

And as the smallest of pores begin to release hues of blue and black

The fight to emit something different begins.

Maybe something resembling the radiance of the sun itself?

Although harrowing - a much better fate

Than feeling this non-feeling,

Where everything is dark,

And lonely.
